MIR at IML - A Recap
Mr. International Rubber was proud to be represented at IML29 this year and our booth was a huge hit with the crowd. We talked up Mr. International Rubber to the over 15,000 people in attendance. We had information about rubber events around the world and market attendees could enter to win a free MIR weekend package in our give-away by dropping their contact info in our big rubber fireman's boot.
Speaking of the give away - 2 weekend packages to MIR were given away and the winners were Kyle of Lexington, Kentucky and James of Galesburg, Illinois. Congratulations!
IML: The Rubber Agenda was a big success. Friday night was the annual Rubber Bar Night at the Cell Block with many new rubber guys introduced to the home of Mr. International Rubber. Saturday night was the Recon gear party, which saw guys from their popular fetish sites mixing and migling. Later that same evening, at another location, was the Strict Rubber Dress Code Party. This year it was definitely the hottest one we've had yet as we tried out a new space and things went very well to say the least! Porn stars in the bathtubs anyone?
Special thanks to the guys at Slick It Up for being such good neighbors across the aisle from us. (The views from our booth this year were amazing as guys were trying on and stripping out of their suits all weekend long! Yum!) Special thanks also go to the guys from BDG Sales for noticing that we were stuck in a dark corner of the room and shining some much needed light on us from their booth across the aisle.
And of course HUGE thanks to all the guys who volunteered to staff the MIR booth at IML this year. We couldn't have done it without you guys!
MIR 2008 Hotel - More Rooms Added!
We told you that we would be pushing hard during IML to get guys to reserve their rooms. We'll all that work paid off.
The hotel has let us know that rooms are moving faster than ever for MIR (over 75% of the hotel is now booked for us that weekend!) and they have added an additional block of rooms for us, and those have been going fast as well.
So, if you want to stay at the hotel closest to all the MIR events (and in what looks to be a hotel full of rubber guys!) you need to book your room ASAP. This may be the last time we get to say it because the next thing you hear from us may be that the hotel is full and completely sold out!
Our host hotel is the Best Western Hawthorne Terrace and unlike some other hotels you have until 24 hours prior to your reservation to cancel and there are no charges made to your card until you actually check-in!

Chicago Rubbermen Anniversary and Website
The Chicago Rubbermen, a group of pervy rubber guys in the greater Chicagoland area, are celebrating their one year anniversary with a special bar night on July 14, 2007 at the Cell Block Chicago.
Former MIR contestant and judge, Tommy DeNial, of RubberZone.com will be in attendance and there will be give-aways, prizes and other kinky surprises throughout the night. If you're going to be in town, be sure to stop by and join in the fun!
Additionally, the group has launched their first website where you can find out information about the group, check for upcoming events, subscribe to their email list and get advance notice about their club events.
Mr. Midwest Rubber 2007
All of the pieces are coming together for the second annual Mr. Midwest Rubber to be held July 20-21, 2007 at Touche Bar in Chicago.
Mr. Midwest Rubber is a great summer weekend in Chicago and is an official preliminary to MIR2008!
At press time plans were being finalized, but we understand that Friday night will be a meet and greet cocktail party with the men on Onyx. The main event, the Mr. Midwest Rubber 2007 contest, will be held on Saturday night beginning at 10:00 pm. There are rumors of a play party on Sunday afternoon as well, but they are only rumors at this point. Guess you'll just have to be there and see what happens!
If you are interested in entering the contest, be sure to call Touche and get an application sent to you. There is no defined "midwest" territory for this contest and all contestants are welcome.
West Coast Rubber Weekend
Time to gather your rubber gear and head for the sunny (dry?!?) heat of Palm Springs for another edition of West Coast Rubber, August 31 - September 3, 2007!
This weekend has become so popular that they have even planned events for those of you who want to arrive early or stay late, so you can start on the 30th and stay until the 4th if you like!
If you've never spent a weekend in the desert of California - in your rubber gear - you're really missing out! No seriously...it's great fun diving into the pool in full gear to cool off and then getting distracted by all the other rubber guys in the pool as well!
I have to say that L8XDad and L8XBoy really know how to throw a great weekend party. This is the 3rd year for WCR and things just keep getting better and better! Who knows what they have hidden in their bag of rubbery tricks for this year.
We do know that West Coast Rubber moves to a new hotel this year. The Desert Moon Resort is a clothing optional resort with 24 rooms surrounding a beautifully landscaped pool area. Views of the mountains are incredible from every location on the property, including the slings! And since it is clothing optional, it sounds like views inside the property will be incredible as well! So leave the jock and zip-around shorts in your room and show off your ass-ets in those skin tight rubber chaps! (At last report there was only one room left at the Desert Moon, after that they are referring attendees to the Chaps Inn, another fetish oriented hotel in Palm Springs! So call now!)
Maurizio on the Move!
Maurizio continues his trek around the globe representing Mr. International Rubber and the Rubber Fetish community. We hear he's been riding floats all over Europe in the various Christopher Street Day Parades (that's the European version of gay pride parades.)
We're looking forward to pictures...of course!
Your next opportunity to see Maurizio will be July 21 at the launch of the new RubClub meetings in Belgium! Later this year Maurizio invades Sweden as part of the European Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs Annual General Meeting and the Mr. Leather Europe Contest.
