Sad News For The MIR Family...
Unfortunately we must start this email blast on a sad note.
The Mr. International Rubber family expresses our condolences on the passing of Dan Majewski, partner to Frank Blondale and Tom Stabnicki. Dan passed suddenly on the evening of October 20.
Attendees to Mr. International Rubber in the past two years will remember Dan as the Cell Block bartender and manager with the long beard and tattoos.
To those of us behind the scenes, he was the smiling yet quiet partner to Frank Blondale, owner of Mr. International Rubber. Dan played a key role in the decisions that have shaped Mr. International Rubber over the last two years.
Dan will be missed by many in both Chicago and Detroit, and by friends he has made throughout the fetish world.
As Dan wished, there will be no "memorial" services, but rather celebrations of life and rememberance parties will be held at both the Detroit Eagle and Chicago Cell Block later in November.
So in keeping with Dan's wishes, we'll celebrate the fetish life that he so loved, and a weekend he greatly enjoyed - Mr. International Rubber. He would have wanted it that way.
MIR's Instigatir (sic) Ooops!
In the last edition of News from Mr. International Rubber we spoke fondly of Issue 15 of Instigator Magazine and the photo shoot of IML Mike Gerle being swayed to the dark and shiny side.
We'll it seems we were a litte...uh..."distracted" by the image. (Hmmm...I wonder why?)
So imagine our surprise when we realized there was a typo in the link at the end of the article!
ARGH! Damn you Instigator Magazine and your smoking hot images of men in rubber gear!
In the meantime our personal copy of Issue 15 arrived in the mail (focus...focus...focus...) and we noticed another MIR connection in Issue 15.
HELL'S KITCHEN begins on page 57 and features former MIR contestant from Montreal, Satis, in a full-on Rubber food play scene with his friend Fenn.
Who knew playing with your food could be so much pervalicious fun! Chocotale and vanilla pudding with black rubber! YUMMY!

Contestants Queue Up for MIR2008!
The preliminary deadline for Mr. International Rubber contestants has come and gone and we're sharing the early entries to the contest with you now. You'll see these contestants AND MORE live and in person beginning Friday November 9 at the Meet and Greet Cocktail Party. Final deadline for contestants is Friday, November 9 at 5:00 PM and no previous contest experience is required!
Here are the two contestants we'd like to introduce you to right now.
Mr. Rubber Montreal 2007 - Brian Turgeon
Brian is the 2nd Mr. Rubber Montreal and will be the second Mr. Rubber Montreal to compete at Mr. International Rubber.
Brian won his contest in November of 2006 and has been traveling all over North America and even to Europe representing Montreal and the Aigle Noir Bar.
Brian is 42 and a teacher (hmmm...I wonder what he teaches?) He is a a member of Légende Urbaine and Donjon de Lachenaie.
Mr. M.E.C. Rubber France 2007 - Xavier Gicquel
Xavier is the 2nd Mr. M.E.C. Rubber France and will be the first Mr. M.E.C. to compete at Mr. International Rubber.
Xavier won his contest on March 31, 2007 and has been traveling around Europe promoting M.E.C. and the rubber fetish.
He is 42 and a professional gay artist and sex illustrator. He lives in Paris, and is a member of the French rubber club, Mecs En Caoutchouc.

Buy Your Tickets Online!
The mad dash to the finish is on. Weekend package sales are in full swing and you can buy your tickets online until Thursday, November 8 at 5:00 PM. After that time weekend packages will only be available at the registration desk.
Our weekend package is the same price as last year but we've added more events to the weekend schedule! It's a bargain!
Getting Around Chicago
This year we added the getting around page to the website so that you know the various options for traveling to and from the airports and MIR venues.
You'll find information about Chicago mass Transit, Airport Shuttle Services and Cab service. Be sure to check out the travel options in Chicago.
We think you'll find Chicago and easy city to navigate especially with the new Getting Around page. And if you see a rubber man looking a little lost, grab their rubber covered arm and share a cab with them.
Mr. East Coast Rubber 2007 is John Weis!
The 6th Annual Mr. East Coast Rubber was held in New York City on October 13 and hosted by the NY Renedages.
When the votes were tallied the winner was....John Weis!
John is an avowed community activist, a past chairman of GMSMA, founder of the Leather Leadership Conference and Folsom East, and more importantly an all around rubber pervert!
His partner, Larry, was Mr. East Coast Rubber 2004.
Mr. Rubber Italia 2008 is Nicola!
Leather Club Roma held their annual Mr. Rubber Italia contest on October 13 in Rome, Italy.
News regarding the event is still coming in, but we can confirm that Nicola from Milano is the new Mr. Rubber Italia!
Nicola is a 32 year top who is into rubber, sneakers, boots, tit play, cock and ball play, and dildos... among other things!
MIR extends our congratulations to Nicola and Leather Club Roma on another great Italian rubber weekend!
Mr. Full Rubber 2007 Is Antoine!
FullRubber.net and RubClub hosted the Mr. Fullrubber contest on October 20 in Berlin.
6 contestants competed for the title and the winner was Antoine, a member of Mec En Caoutchouc and the first runner-up to Mr. M.E.C. Rubber France 2007.
Antoine is 30 years old and only the 3rd man to wear the Mr. Full Rubber Sash.
Congratulations to Antoine and Mec En Caoutchouc on bringing the title to France!
