MIR2009 Early Registration Ending Soon!
This year we implemented an early registration as a way to encourage you to register early. That early registration is ending very soon, and then the price for Weekend Packages goes up.
Be sure to register by Midnight on August 31, 2008 (CST) to take advantage of the discounted rates. After that date, the rate for weekend packages goes up to $125.00 per person. As always you can register online or submit your registration via postal mail, but it must be received by August 31, 2008 in order to take advantage of the discounted rate!
MIR2009 - IML Prize Package Winners!
As promised we're announcing the winners of the IML Weekend Package give-away in this edition of News from MIR.
Two winners were selected at random from the hundreds of entries and the two lucky individuals are... David and Chris!
Congratulations and we look forward to seeing you at MIR2009 along with all of the other rubbermen!
Rubberbuck is West Coast Rubber 2008!
At left you can see four years of West Coast Rubber winners on stage shortly after the announcement of the winner at the Los Angeles Eagle on July 12, 2008.
Mr. West Coast Rubber 2008 is Rubberbuck (second from the left above) who is from Phoenix, Arizona. Also competing was Mr. Eagle LA Rubber, Adam.
Rubberbuck is 39 years old, and 6'4" tall. His kinks are roleplay, gearplay, bondage, water sports, cock and ball play, and tit play. He's currently single, but on the look out for the right man to settle down with. (Who knows... Mr. West Coast Rubber 2007, Chistopher Saxon, recently moved to Chicago to join his prince charming who he met at...wait for it...MIR2008!)
West Coast Rubber 2008 made the transition to Los Angeles with ease and included a slime pit, gear swap, formal gear dinner and of course a dungeon party.
Mr. Midwest Rubber 2008 is Rocco!
Mr. Midwest Rubber began it's third year of existance as the main event of Pantheon of Leather XVIII.
Two contestants competed for the title and Rocco was declared the winner by a panel of five judges that included MIR2008, BJ Turgeon and MIR1999, Thomas Smith. Here you see MWR 2008 Rocco (center) with MWR2007 Dontay (left), and MWR 2006 Dan the Rubberman (Right).
Rocco is 29 years old, and stands 6'1" tall. He's into gear of all sorts including spandex, and leather, but his primary fetish is his rubber gear - which he wears anywhere and everywhere he can! Not just a pretty face, Rocco is a pharmacist with a specialization
in HIV medications. Rocco is also a member of the Chicago Rubbermen.
The Mr. Midwest Rubber website has recently been updated with pictures from all three years of competition.
TORN's launch a success!
Priape hosted the first annual Mr. Toronto Rubber contest this past weekend at the Pen in the Alibi of Toronto. We'll have updates on the results in our next email.
Immediately proceeding the Mr. Rubber Toronto contest, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm, was the monthly TORN Rubber Party. TORN rubber launched in June of this year and by all accounts their parties have been a huge success. Their party on August 16 featured "slime pool wrestling." Their party in July featured a bondage and suspension demonstration. They've posted pictures from their first three events (like the one on the left) on their website as well.
In our last newsletter we stated that some events were dress code enforced, however shortly after we hit the send key we got a clarification from one of the TORN organizers, Colin. "A minimum of one piece of rubber gear is required for all of our parties, not including boots." Perfect for a club that is just getting started and a great way to recruit new rubbermen into the scene!
Hotlanta Rubber Group heats up the Atlanta Eagle!
Hotlanta Rubber Group launched at the Atlanta Eagle on July 12, 2008.
In the picture to the right you can see the event was a horny good time, and we're sure that many guys who were introduced to rubber that evening had an "ah ha" moment at some point in the evening!
Hotlanta Rubber Group will be hosting bar nights at the Atlanta Eagle on the fourth Friday of each month. That means their next event will be August 22, 2008 beginning at 10:00 pm.
Tentative date for the first Mr. Southeast Rubber contest are also shown on their site for April 17-19, 2009 and we'll share more details as they become available.

MIR2008 On The Move Through The Summer!
BJ was at West Coast Rubber and Midwest Rubber recently and is preparing to wrap up his year as MIR2008.
