Film Screening - "Second Skin"

MIR28 attendees are invited to a special pre-release screening of the upcoming documentary "Second Skin", which tells the stories of two couples and their personal journeys in the latex community - sharing stories of self discovery, identity, love, and even hardship. QuietFire, the producer of this film will be on hand for Q & A as well as to receive feedback from community members before the film is released to the general public. Can't make this screening? The film will be screened again on Sunday afternoon.

The 1st Drone Meet-up at MIR

You asked for it and here it is, a social meet-up for those interested in drones. Whether you're a drone or a programmer, you are welcome here. A group photo will be taken at the end of this meet-up.

The 1st Women and Femmes Meet-up at MIR

Welcome to the women and femmes! MIR recognizes that kink communities have always included femmes and women, but they have not been welcomed at all events. As MIR is growing this event has been created to give space to meet, hang out and share our experiences, hopes, and challenges. (The event is meant for women and femmes and is not for the education of those wishing to diversify their events.)

IMSLBB Press Conference and Judges Announcement

The 8th Annual Rubberists of Color Meet-up

MIR continues to support a kink event environment that acknowledges the specific and unique challenges faced by People of Color, and makes space for coming together. The 8th People of Color Meet-Up at MIR provides a chance for all POC participating in MIR weekend to meet, network with people sharing these challenges and experiences in an open and encouraging environment.

The 4th Annual Asian Rubberists Meet-up

Those in the kink community who are of Asian heritage face unique barriers and challenges due to racist abuse, harassment, hate crimes, and violence in queer and kink spaces and in society, rooted in the historic and systemic dehumanization of those of Asian descent. The Asian Rubberists Meetup is a breakout summit from the annual Rubberists of Color Meetup and welcomes those of all Asian heritages into a safe and intentional space for discussion, networking, and reflection about both Asian and wider POC issues.

The 28th International Rubber Contest

The 28th International Rubber Contest happens TONIGHT! There will be entertainment and fun for everyone!
No luggage will be allowed in the venue. We strongly advise against bringing any bags to the contest venue.
Please refer to the safety, entry and bag policy on the website of the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts for more details.

Can't attend in person? Watch the Livestream of the contest beginning at ~7:30 on Saturday with the Opening Ceremonies, to be immediately followed by the live contest in Chicago!  Have your mobile devices or laptop ready, as voting will be ONLINE this year.  You can vote from home, during the 10 minute audience vote window during the contest.

Attendees will hear firsthand from representative members of this community about their individual experiences and how their genre of kink differs from others. Specifically, we'll explore how their kink puts them in a different headspace, how that headspace benefits them, their scene play, and their social lives.
